Absolute pop perfection is delivered by Doja Cat this week. It’s been a long minute since someone has captured the 80’s sound like this. And with an above average rap verse, this song cemented itself into the best songs of this year, so if this flops, fuck this year and delay everything to next.

DEBUTS:

#1 farm is back with Tears. For what I thought would be a really bad album with no redeeming factors (which it kinda was), this one’s nice. Call me chronically online (and you’d be right), but the beginning of the song uses the same instruments as All My Fellas, and it works here more than it does the latter. It’s a good vibe that won’t hurt anyone except for the 90-year-old who decides to tune into Top 40 radio.

Eminem decides he wants to say he was a bitch all the way back to the Eminem show. This song, Everybody’s Looking At Me, says everything in The Real Slim Shady was a lie and he was rage baiting us all. I would expect this from today’s Marshall, but his mask slipping this early into his career confuses me. This definitely won’t go anywhere.

Knox the plant returns with a song I quite can’t remember. HITS 1 has a 50/50 coin toss when selecting Knox songs to turn into the biggest hit of the century, so we’ll see if it (hopefully) lands on tails.
